PT ESC specialists discovered an interconnected network of news sites, email domains, and social media accounts that were used to spread fake news.

The overwhelming majority of the discovered news resources and email-sending domains were registered to the same email address ✉️

The sites and social media accounts mostly masqueraded as regional news outlets, and the fake materials distributed through them often overlapped across different resources.

In addition, we discovered a possible connection between this infrastructure and the Rare Werewolf group. It had previously also used a similar tactic at the initial stage of attacks — sending emails without any payload.
